Design/Install
Planning Your Design
Natural Elements meets with you to discover your landscape priorities. There is no charge for this initial visit. We listen to your needs and ideas and help talk you through your project to make sure that we’re all on the same path to evolving your outdoor space. If you decide to move forward with designing your landscape, we will take measurements and provide a professional landscape design complete with plant names and measurements for your project space. Along with the over-sized illustration and plant list, Natural Elements will provide an estimate for the design installation. There is a fee associated with the design which is due upon design presentation. If you move forward with your design, the design fee will be reimbursed after installation begins.
If you decide to have Natural Elements schedule your project, we’ll ask for another deposit, based on the prices of the estimated project component or your choosing. We’ll get you scheduled and get the ball rolling!
Installation
Our first step is to ensure the safety of all involved. We’ll call in the utility lines across your property…in the installation area…and have them marked with flags and turf paint. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to have affected sprinkler heads marked and/or moved. We’ll gladly have them moved for you, if requested. In addition to sprinkler heads/lines, Natural Elements is not responsible for damage to electric dog fences nor other un-marked obstacles, but we’ll do our best and work with you, minimizing any potential damage.
Once, the lines are marked we’ll usually begin with the “hardscape” and stone features first, then the plantings, then the edgings and mulch, rock or other topping options. The delivered plants may be in your yard for a day prior to installation. Feel free to look at these specimens, and do not hesitate to have us add to your order at this time. You may want a few more plants or products for an area that perhaps we had not discussed in the project initially.
Plants for your designed space will include native and select, hardy, non-native plants to help your landscape to be as durable as possible. The added bonus is that you will likely see an increase in wildlife activity in your outdoor space and a parallel improvement in your enjoyment of your new space.
Once the components of your project are installed to your design specifications, barring shifts due to utility line markings, we’re almost done. If there is lawn damage, you’ll have made the choice to repair the sod yourself, or to have Natural Elements repair it for you. After the sod repairs, you and a Natural Elements team member will walk through the project with you to ensure you can identify the plants, and to provide follow-up care advice. At this time the final payment for the project is due.
After installation, please take care to water you new plants regularly as plant death due to negligence is absolutely not warrantable. However; do not hesitate to call or email us for follow-up advice to help you get acquainted with your new plants and features of your new landscape.

Jack did a fantastic job incorporating both my ideas and my spouses ideas into a comprehensive plan for our front and back yard. We hired him to transform our front entry from a closed dark place to a welcoming space where people feel part of our home as soon as they step out of their car. He shaped the gardens to take advantage of existing trees and shrubs, and planted indigenous flowers and bushes that guarantee that something in the garden is always blooming or changing color. He worked within our budget and left the yard neat and clean. We look forward to working with him in the future.
