Lawn Care

Lawn Treatments: Less chemicals—better lawns!

Front Yard LawnNatural Elements Lawn & Landscape has provided lawn services since 2002. We strive to help our customers use less water on lawns and to minimize or eliminate the use of lawn chemicals. The best defense against weeds and other lawn invaders is simply, a healthy lawn. We even provide and encourage the use of organic fertilizers for our eco-friendly customers.

Natural Elements provides:

  • Lawn mowing. We can mow on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for both commercial and residential customers.
  • Soil care and testing. We test your soil to determine how to return your lawn to the optimum fertility and stabilize the turf base. The soil test takes the guesswork out of fertilization and is extremely cost effective. It eliminates the cost of unnecessary fertilizers and over-usage of fertilizers, hence helping to protect the environment.
  • Lawn fertilizer treatments. We use the data from the soil test to craft the right fertilizer blend to bring your soil's health up to acceptable levels...even if it requires phosphorous, we can add it with a documented soil test! We apply the right blend of fertilizers, no more than four times annually. We actually strive for only three times per year. Weeds are sprayed only on a spot-basis!
  • Aeration. We perform a core aeration on your lawn/soil, usually in the fall. If need-be we may recommend adding seed for an over-seed at this time as well. Over-seeding the lawn periodically will help fill gaps and add to lawn strength and weed reduction.

Sod Installation

FirepitEven though we prefer our projects use seed instead of sod, sometimes sod is a great lawn solution and Natural Elements promotes the use of Highland sod. Highland Sod is grown on light farmland, which allows a deeper root system to form, holds a higher moisture content, and has less risk of disease, therefore a thicker, greener, healthier turf. It takes longer to harvest (12 to 18 months) insuring more maturity when you receive it. We strongly recommend Highland Sod for your home and high traffic areas.

We will also use peat sod if you prefer.  Peat sod is grown in peat soil, with a high water table. It receives a high level of moisture, which results in fast growth and is ready for harvest in 6 to 12 months. Peat Sod is recommended for irrigated areas.

I chose Natural Elements Lawn & Landscape because of Jack's focus on eco-friendly lawn techniques. I wanted a healthy, chemical-free lawn that my kids could play on and that wouldn't harm the wildlife in my neighborhood. After three years of working with Jack, the result is a beatiful lawn that I can feel good about.
